A Redding man was arrested Thursday morning after more than 900 images of child porn and multiple videos were reportedly found that were taken by a hidden camera, according to police. 34-year-old Ryan Ravito was arrested during a traffic stop near Buenaventura Blvd. and Placer Street. An arrest warrant was issued after high-tech detectives searched a hard drive and reportedly found the images that were taken from a camera hidden in the guest bathroom of Ravito’s residence. His wife contacted police on March 8th after she found the device and questioned Ravito about it. He told his wife he knew about the camera and would remove it and discard it. Before it could be destroyed she seized the camera, and the storage drive, and turned it over to the Redding Police Department. On the drive multiple videos were found that showed children and adults using the bathroom who did not appear to know they were being recorded. Ravito has been booked at the Shasta County Jail for charges related to the possession of child pornography and the surreptitious recording of an identifiable person who was undressed.
