A fire at a North Redding duplex on Friday evening is still under investigation. At 6:35PM Redding Fire crews were called to 415 Lake Boulevard. They found flames showing from the duplex and contained the fire in ten minutes, preventing it from spreading beyond the unit where it originated. Smoke alarms did their job and no people were injured but two cats were trapped inside and perished. The monetary damage is estimated at $50,000 to the $350,000 building and another $20,000 worth of contents.
