A Redding man was arrested after Redding Police say he was seen breaking into cars in an East Redding shopping district. Just before 3PM on Christmas Eve, a witness called the RPD to the parking lot of Hobby Lobby on Churn Creek Road, saying a man was standing near a Mitsubishi Eclipse that had a shattered window, and he was also looking into other parked cars. When officers got there, 43-year-old Alexander Leon ran, but he was quickly caught. A purse and other personal property was found along the pursuit route, which apparently had come from the Eclipse. Officers say more stolen goods were found in Leon’s jacket. He was booked for burglary, vandalism and resisting arrest.
