Council Approves Selling Water To Area Districts, Fee For Response To Medical Calls

Even though the state is in a drought emergency, the City of Redding will remain in stage one of a six tier system, meaning that it will not require customers to conserve, but ask them to voluntarily cut back by 15%. The city is selling some of its reserves to three neighboring agencies that aren’t doing as well.

At Tuesday nights meeting the Redding City Council approved a proposal by the fire department to charge a $326 first responder fee for medical calls. That cost will be billed to the customers insurance and there will be waivers available for those who can not pay.
