Redding Firefighters responded early Thursday morning for a vegetation fire in an area that’s frequently used for camping by homeless people. The fire burned around an acre of dry grass and brush in an area behind Lowe’s off East Cypress Avenue. The cause is still under investigation. A vehicle was seen fleeing the area just after the fire started at around 3AM.
