Investigators Identify “Person On Interest” In May Murder Case

There may be a break in a Los Molinos murder investigation. On May 23rd an elderly couple was attacked in their home on Josephine Avenue by a knife-wielding intruder. Tehama County Deputies were called after 91-year-old Homer Glenn Severs, suffering from a stab wound, made it to a neighboring family member’s home. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital and rushed into surgery. His wife, 88-year-old Loreen May Severs, was found in the couple’s home dead with a stab wound to her upper torso. No suspects were identified at the time, nor was a motive known. Now Tehama County Sheriff’s Detectives say they’ve identified a strong person of interest in the case. The person has not been arrested, but is currently in jail custody in a neighboring county on unrelated charges as the murder investigation continues.
