A man walked through Downtown Redding Friday afternoon throwing rocks at buildings and breaking windows. Many witnesses reported the vandalism and described the man to police. 40-year-old Brian Scott McCain was picked up by officers on Cypress Avenue and identified by several witnesses. Officers say he told them he was trying to get the attention of a family member so they would pay for McCain to attend a Methamphetamine rehab program. At least five windows were broken at different businesses, causing thousands of dollars in damage. Anyone else who had a window broken Friday should contact Redding Police at 225-4200.
