Red Salmon Complex Grows Overnight, Containment Increases

Federal firefighters have gained 5% containment on the Red Salmon Complex, burning in the Trinity Alps Wilderness on both the Six Rivers and Shasta-Trinity National Forests. The fires have burned a combined 4,284 acres. Forest Service crews are using minimum impact suppression tactics to protect natural and cultural resources, and strengthening indirect line using trail systems, roads, ridgelines and control lines from previous fires.
