A man was captured Wednesday afternoon after allegedly shooting someone at a Lakehead campground. At around 3:30PM Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to Solus Campground on reports that Charles Lon Blankenship the Third had shot one victim, who was transported by ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Blankenship had fled before the arrival of deputies, but the CHP spotted him and pulled him over. He was taken into custody without incident and a gun was recovered. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the altercation with the victim. He was then booked into jail for domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon with a gun, and child endangerment.
