Many evacuations and road closures remain in effect for the Gold Fire south of Adin in Lassen County. It’s burned 21,870 acres, now with 65% containment. Cal-Fire managers are anticipating drier conditions with lower humidity and gusty winds at midweek. Many homes and ranches are threatened. 13 structures have been destroyed and 5 others damaged. Three firefighters have been injured. Nearly 2200 personnel are on scene.
Crews have been gaining containment on the Hog Fire west of Susanville. It’s burned 9,545 acres, now with 69% containment. 2 structures have been destroyed. Nearly all evacuations have been lifted. Highway 44 and Highway 36 have reopened.
