3PM Thursday: Butte County Reports 50 New Cases

Shasta County has another 6 Coronavirus cases for a total of 215. They’re all in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Three of the new cases have symptoms and one is in the hospital. 6 Shasta County residents have died of the virus. There are 37 active cases. 3 people are hospitalized, all of them in the I.C.U. 151 people are quarantined due to possible exposure.

Butte County reported 50 new cases on Thursday for a total of 487. It was the counties highest single day surge since the start of the pandemic. Tehama County is up to 126. Glenn County’s has had 183, and reported the counties 1st death on Wednesday. Lassen County has had 41 cases in the community, in addition to 405 in the prison population. Siskiyou County has had 43. There have been 167 in Humboldt County. Trinity County is still reporting 2 cases, and there are still none confirmed in Modoc County.

17,019 tests have been reported negative in Shasta County. Those numbers don’t include people who have been tested for antibodies, as Vitalant has been doing with all blood donors.
