Northern Counties Beginning To Feel COVID-19 Bite

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Some Northern California counties that were among the first to begin reopening their economies are cracking down again as the state sees a troubling rise in cases of the coronavirus. Supervisors in Yolo County, near Sacramento, passed a measure on Tuesday that allows fines of up to $10,000 for businesses that don’t follow state and local health orders. The Sacramento Bee says Sutter, Yuba and Placer counties plan to halt indoor restaurant dining this week. California now has seen nearly 280,000 cases and some 6,500 deaths. Currently, 23 counties are on a state watch list because of troubling COVID-19 rises.
