A woman lost a leg in a crash on Interstate 5 south of Red Bluff Tuesday morning, according to the CHP. At around 6:30AM, a new Chevy Malibu driven by a Minnesota man was southbound when it rear-ended a Mazda 3. That sent the Mazda into a spin toward the median, where it hit a guardrail and a concrete wall. That sheared off the front half of the car. The passenger, 39-year-old Chamise Hurd of San Diego, had a leg severed. She was transported to Mercy Hospital in Redding. The driver had minor injuries.
