Authorities Say Shooter Is Still At Large After Double Murder On Saturday

A Shingletown man is still at large after reportedly shooting three people and killing 2 of them. 35-year-old Daun Eric Sanders may have fled in a dark colored pickup truck before the arrival of deputies Saturday on Gail Lane off Dersch Road, about a mile from Highway 44. The Shasta County Coroners Office has identified the two people killed as 59-year-old Jon Charles Depoorter and 66-year-old Michael Barton Stanfill. A third unidentified victim is in critical condition. Sanders is a resident of Gail Lane, though the shooting did not occur at his home, according to the sheriff’s office.
