A Cal-Trans project along Highway 299 in Trinity County will again cause lengthy delays for drivers. The “Burnt Junction Drapery Project” involves helicopters being used to install mesh drapery on the hillsides to help stabilize the loose rocks and reduce the severity of slides. The work is being done between Junction City and Burnt Ranch. The project is expected to continue until November, with 20 minute delays expected during blasting and scaling work. When helicopters are working on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week (6/30-7/2), drivers can expect delays of up to 75 minutes between 7AM and 5PM.
