A large number of fire crews, aircraft and other resources were being dispatched to a vegetation fire near Foster Road in the area of Gas Point Road south of the Veterans Cemetery Monday afternoon. A fairly large smoke plume could be seen, but air attack reported the fire to be only about a half acre on the east side of Gas Point Road. Ground crews had it quickly contained.
