Last Wednesday multiple fires broke out coincidentally in Shasta and Tehama Counties within an hour, and most of them have been solved, including two in Redding started from careless cigarette smokers. One of the fires during that time frame was in the area of Rock Creek Road and Walker Terrace in Old Shasta, an area where residents are understandably still on edge from the Carr Fire. It burned about an acre of dry grass, brush and Pine Trees. Cal-Fire investigators talked to numerous witnesses who led them to 54-year-old Jeanna Barnette. She was contacted the following day and reportedly admitted that she shot off a flare gun in anger during an argument, and that’s what started the fire. She was booked into jail on several charges.
