A lot of heavy equipment will be seen in Lower Clear Creek as a restoration project continues. Crews will be working six days a week through the Summer on the project, which has been underway for more than 20 years and has already dramatically improved Fall Salmon runs. The work will allow the creek to flow out of a man made ditch and return to its natural alignment with pools and gravel bottoms suitable for Salmon spawning. That stretch of Clear Creek had suffered more than a hundred years of damage from gold mining, gravel extraction and irrigation diversion.
