Friday Mid-Day: 8 New Cases In Tehama County, 1 In Butte County

Tehama County has reported a large spike of Coronavirus cases. On Friday morning 8 new cases were reported for a total of 20. Shasta County’s latest Coronavirus case is a girl under the age of 13 showing symptoms, bringing the total to 48. 4 people have died and 7 are in isolation, one of them hospitalized. 16 people are quarantined due to possible exposure. Tehama County is up to 12 cases with one fatality. Trinity County has had 2. Butte County reported an additional case on Friday for a total of 74, with one death. Humboldt county is up to 112, with two deaths. There have now been 14 in Siskiyou County, 47 in Del Norte County, 23 in Glenn County and 9 in Lassen County. There are still none reported in Modoc County, but they held their first testing clinic Thursday.

Public health officials are pointing out that prevention efforts that had been driven by a statewide shutdown are no longer in place. Protecting our elderly and other vulnerable family and neighbors is the responsibility of everybody. Masks should be worn in public, social distancing should be maintained, hands should be washed frequently and travel should be avoided.
