State Clears More Businesses To Re-Open

California movie theaters can begin opening later this week if they limit theater capacity to 25% or no more than 100 attendees. California’s Department of Education has released a detailed how-to guide to safely reopen schools. State Superintendent Tony Thurmond says it will serve as a road map for school districts as they prepare for the return of classes. Thurmond says many parents have also expressed an interest in continuing online learning, which will be incorporated. Child care, day camps, casinos and professional sports with no spectators are cleared for opening state wide. Shasta County has approved the opening of bars, wineries and breweries, gyms and fitness clubs, campgrounds and RV parks, hotels, batting cages, bowling alleys, miniature golf, and museums. Waterworks Park opened last Friday without approval, but Shasta County officials have not indicated any intention to enforce business closures. Many people returning to work are in need of child care. Help, including assistance for working families in paying for child care, can be found at shastaready.org .
