Man Who Stabbed Brother In The Chest Pleads Guilty

A Burney man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his brother. On February 3rd, Ken Herrington called 9-1-1 to say his brother had just stabbed him in the chest. When deputies arrived at the home on Hudson Street in Burney, Ken said his brother, 46-year-old Alan Herrington, had shown up drunk and belligerent and the two were arguing. He said he asked Alan to step out into the backyard to avoid disturbing their elderly parents. That’s when Alan grabbed a large knife from a knife block in the kitchen and plunged it into the center of Ken’s chest. Alan then fled, but deputies found him nearby. Ken survived the stabbing. On Thursday Alan entered a guilty plea for assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, with a prior strike. Next month he’ll be sentenced to 14 years in state prison.
