It’s been almost a week since the last reported case of COVID-19 in Shasta County, with the total remaining at 34. The three most recent cases have been men showing no symptoms. 4 Shasta County residents have died. 10 people are quarantined due to possible exposure. Tehama County has had 2 cases, including one death. Trinity County has had one. Humboldt County has had 88 cases, with two deaths. Butte County reported 3 new cases on Friday for a total of 34, including at least one believed to have been contracted at a church service in Palermo on Mothers Day. Siskiyou County now has had 6. Glenn County has had a dozen. There are still none reported in Lassen or Modoc Counties.
Officials are encouraging everyone to get tested. 3,541 tests have shown negative results in Shasta County. Anyone, even with no symptoms, can get tested for free at a Covid testing station at Shasta College or at the Red Bluff Community Center or at Corning High School. If insurance doesn’t cover the cost, the state will. Appointments must be made online at lhi.care/covidtesting.
