The Henderson Open Space on the east bank of the Sacramento River south of the Cypress Avenue Bridge has been cleared of illegal camps and many tons of debris countless times by Redding Police, and it seems there’s no end to the clean-up operation. The RPD swept the area once again Tuesday, assisted by Anderson Police, the CHP, State Fish and Wildlife and volunteers. More than 10,000 pounds of material was removed from homeless camps and illegal dumps strewn about the area. 24 citations were issued for violations of the municipal code and the vehicle code. Six people were cited or arrested on outstanding warrants.
