Redding Police and State Alcohol Control Agents did some underage alcohol stings on Wednesday and Friday, and it showed that at least retailers are beginning to get it. Officers did both kinds of minor alcohol sting operations, targeting retailers as well as customers. The underage buyer went into twelve different stores trying to buy alcoholic drinks, but was refused every single time. The other type of sting is the shoulder tap operation, where customers about to go into stores are approached by the decoy and asked if they’ll make a booze purchase for them. 21 people were asked and four agreed to make the purchases and were cited.
