A CHP helicopter crew helped nab 2 people after a robbery in Trinity County. Around 7PM Sunday night, a call came in to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office saying that the Lewiston Mini-Mart had been robbed by 2 men, one of them armed. A half hour later, a Highway Patrol helicopter crew spotted a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle on Highway 299-W near Whiskeytown Lake. They followed it until ground units could make a stop. The two men inside, 31-year-old Robert Mace of Keswick and 39-year-old Paul Arnott of Shasta Lake City denied any involvement. The sheriff’s office reportedly found physical evidence to the contrary. They also say the men’s alibis were false. Mace and Arnott were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime.
