A Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Deputy dug into his own pocket to ease a boy’s distress. On Tuesday morning, Deputy Backovich responded to a report a stolen bicycle. He learned that it belonged one of of 2 twin boys. Last Christmas, the boys each received new bikes. The boy, who had his bicycle stolen, was upset and his 7-year-old twin brother offered his own bicycle in place of the stolen one. Deputy Backovich attempted to locate the bicycle with no success. After a trip to Walmart, he and Deputy Sancibrian returned to the residence with a brand new bicycle to replace the stolen one, and a gift card for his brother for being so generous and thoughtful.
