18 people were arrested across Shasta County Wednesday as a team of local law enforcement agencies conducted a warrant and probation sweep. Prior to the sweep members of several agencies identified suspects believed to be violating the terms of their parole or probation. Throughout the day, law enforcement searched multiple locations in Anderson, Redding and Shasta Lake, along with the unincorporated areas of Shasta County. In all 18 people were arrested on various charges including probation violations, drug possession, and weapons charges. During the sweep 5 individuals were cited and released on misdemeanor drug charges or for misdemeanor warrants. According to Redding Police, as of Thursday afternoon the 18 people arrested were still being held in the Shasta County Jail awaiting court hearings.
