For the second day, travelers headed northbound on Interstate Five faced traffic delays. On Wednesday, there were extensive delays due to construction work on the Pit River Bridge. Starting about 11:15AM Thursday morning, there were additional delays due to a big rig car hauler that stalled, blocking the one open lane near Turntable Bay Road offramp. According to CHP Dispatch, northbound traffic was backed up as far as Mountain Gate. The southbound lanes were also closed briefly, so a tow truck could get to the semi. Both northbound and southbound lanes were reopened at about 12:30PM. Delays due to construction should be less after Friday when the work requiring the lane crossover on the bridge is completed.
