State Assemblyman Brian Dahle is now Senator Elect Brian Dahle after winning Tuesday’s special election to replace Ted Gaines who recently won a seat on the Board of Equalization. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Dahle had 53.1 percent of the votes with challenger Kevin Kiley getting 46.9 percent. In Shasta County – with a 21.4 percent voter turnout – Dahle, who currently represents the area, got 81.32 percent of the vote. Once the election is officially certified the Governor will call for another special election to replace Dahle in the Assembly. That election will likely be in the Fall.
