The Redding Fire Department will pay tribute to 2 fallen colleagues next week. The public is invited to a ceremony in honor of Chief Gerry Gray and Fire Inspector Jeremy Stoke. Two concrete memorial benches with bronze plaques along the river trail will be dedicated. A ceremony will be held Wednesday at 11AM at the Harlan Drive Trailhead of the Sacramento River Trail. Gray died suddenly last July of a medical issue, while Stoke was killed during the Carr Fire. The department says the benches will be lasting reminders of the courage and leadership of the 2 men.Reflections from colleagues and close friends will be shared before visiting the benches along the river trail.
