A veterans advocate who has been at odds with law enforcement for years has been convicted of weapons charges. Donald “Blue” Mobley established a drop-in community center for veterans in the City of Shasta Lake and has dedicated his life to helping those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He has had a number of run-ins with the law because of his practice of growing marijuana and giving it to PTSD victims as treatment. In May of 2016 Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies searched Mobley’s home and found multiple loaded guns. Several rifles were found in a safe, including an M&P .223 rifle and a black AK rifle. On Thursday a jury found Mobley guilty of two counts of possession of an assault rifle. Sentencing is set for June 21st.
