A Red Bluff man has been sentenced for starting a fire at the Red Bluff Community Center. The fire was started next to the building on March 30th, causing minimal damage. The perpetrator could be seen clearly on surveillance video. A couple of days later Red Bluff Police officers spotted 54-year-old Donald Oliveira Jr. on South Main Street near Diamond Avenue. He looked like the same man and was still wearing the same clothing seen in the video, so they stopped and detained him. He confessed during questioning that he was responsible. He’s been convicted of recklessly causing a fire, a felony, and sentenced to three years in state prison.
