Highway 299 west is totally blocked by a rock slide west of Willow Creek. The CHP has closed the highway in both directions while Cal-Trans crews complete emergency work to clear the debris. All traffic is being turned around at Willow Creek on the east end of the closure and Titlow Hill Road on the west end. The closure is expected to continue until at least 11 O’clock Friday morning. Also, a high wind advisory is in effect on Interstate 5 between Weed and Yreka. Travelers to some mountain areas should be ready for some out-of-season weather conditions. Snow plows were called to work Highway 44 overnight in the Lassen Park area.
