Missing Camper’s Body Recovered From Sacramento River

A missing camper has been found in Siskiyou County, and the discovery was not a good one. On Monday Siskiyou County Deputies were called to the Twin Arrows Campground southwest of Mount Shasta by a woman who said her boyfriend had been missing since the night before when he wandered away from their campsite. She said he had been consuming alcohol and marijuana all day. Other campers reported seeing the man near the bank of the South Fork of the Sacramento River. The woman was especially concerned because her boyfriend couldn’t swim. A search and rescue coordinator requested help from a CHP helicopter to scope out the river. At 3:40PM the helicopter crew spotted the body in the river wedged in some rocks about a quarter mile downstream of the campground. The body was about 30 feet from shore, and was recovered by the sheriff’s department dive team. The dead man has been identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Wayne Price of Asheville, North Carolina.
