A burglary suspect in the City of Shasta Lake had gotten away, but was captured by a deputy on his way to the scene. Someone called 9-1-1 from Bloomsbury Avenue just before 9AM Sunday to say a man had rung their doorbell, and then tried to open the door. They gave a description of the man. 45 minutes later a deputy responding to a burglar alarm on Page Court saw a man matching the description and stopped. 19-year-old Jonathan Dejesus Hurtado is on probation for drugs and theft, so he was searched and the deputy reported finding a concealed handgun and other property. The house on Page Court had a broken sliding glass door and had obviously been burglarized. The resident, who wasn’t home, was contacted and it was determined that the gun and other things recovered were his. The resident was able to provide deputies with surveillance footage that showed Hurtado at his house. Hurtado was booked into jail on several charges.
