No cause has been determined for Monday morning’s deadly house fire in East Redding. Firefighters were called at 2:45AM and they arrived to find the house about 50% involved in fire. There were three people in the house when the fire started. A man and a woman, made it out on their own. Another unidentified female did not escape. When Redding Firefighters arrived they tried to reach the rear bedroom where the victim was located, but the fire was too intense and they had to retreat. When they were eventually able to get to her, it was too late. Three dogs also died in the fire. The house was a total loss, with the structure and contents estimated at $225,000. Red Cross is helping to find temporary housing for the two displaced people.
