Two lakes in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest have made a list of the “Top 10 Lakes to Visit in California”. An article in the San Francisco Chronicle recognized Lewiston Lake for having the best tent cabins at the Mary Smith Campground. There are six tent cabins with Redwood decks there. Shasta Lake was recognized for having the widest array of overnight facilities of any lake in the Western U.S., with 1,200 campsites, 35 resorts and 400 houseboat rentals. Other local lakes on the list are Big Lake near McArthur with the boat-in campground. Lake Siskiyou was named best for families because of it’s swimming beach.
