Services have been set for Redding Fire Chief Gerry Gray. The chief passed away early Monday morning at the age of 54 in Red Bluff, where he had lived since serving the Red Bluff Fire Department. He was hired by Redding Fire as a Battalion Chief in 2008, made Deputy Chief 2 years later and was appointed Chief in 2015. Gray has many friends in the community, was well liked by his colleagues, and had an excellent relationship with the news media. No information has been made public about his cause of death. A public viewing will be held on Monday from 5PM to 8PM at the Chapel Of The Flowers Mortuary in Red Bluff. A memorial service is planned at the High Point Assembly on Luther Road in Red Bluff next Thursday at 1 O’clock.
