Two men who got stuck in the Mendocino National Forest in Tehama County were rescued thanks to the efforts of Anderson Police. 37-year-old Tyran Meirow of Shasta Lake and 20-year-old Dylan Hembree-Bohl of Shingletown had last been seen at 7 O’clock Monday morning at the Anderson Wal-Mart. They ventured into the higher elevations until their car broke down on a Forest Service road west of Paskenta. Anderson Police tried over and over to reach the men by cell phone before they finally got through. The men had left their car behind walked and about 30 miles until they finally got a weak cell signal. GPS coordinates were passed on to the CHP and the men were told to remain where they were until a CHP helicopter arrived and flew the wayward travelers back to the Redding area and their worried families.
