Redding Electric Utility is putting together a long term plan and they’re asking for help from the people who own the utility- the citizens of Redding. State law requires an integrated resource plan, which identifies where electricity comes from, what it does to the environment and how much it costs. A mandate for reductions in greenhouse gas emissions means more power needs to be found from renewable sources, so some creative planning will be needed. In order to bring ratepayers into the process, a couple of public workshops will be held. The first one is Friday from 11:30AM to 1PM at the Redding Library. Food will be served.
