A 37-year-old Redding man is going to prison for drunkenly threatening family members with a gun. In March of last year Redding Police were called to a home on Paso Drive in Westwood Manor. Xiong Moua had found out his wife was seeking a divorce. Moua had his two daughters, aged 4 and 6, with him at the home of his brother-in-law, Lo Saelee. The men were arguing when Moua picked up a 12 gauge shotgun and pointed it at Saelee and the children, threatening to kill them all. Saelee fought with Moua and got the shotgun away from him, and then hit him over the head with it. Saelee then fled the house with the children and called police. When officers got there they surrounded the house and tried to locate Moua, who was eventually found passed out in his car in the driveway. During trial Moua’s now ex-wife testified that he had previously threatened to kill her if she tried to leave him. He was convicted last month of assault with a firearm, 2 counts of child abuse and criminal threats. On Friday he was sentenced to 7 years 8 months in state prison
