Some serious delays can be expected for travelers on Interstate Five North of Redding. Paving operations in the Lakehead area are restricting traffic to a single lane in each direction, causing severe backups due to the bottleneck. Thursday afternoon Cal-Trans was reporting 2 hour delays for southbound traffic and one-and-a-half hour delays for northbound traffic. The work continues through Saturday with even longer delays possible.
