Council Decides To Hire Tippin As City Manager

The Redding City Council didn’t have to look far for their new city manager. They were primarily looking for someone who could do four things:
1. Reduce crime and increase public safety
2. Restructure city government for the 21st century.
3. Reduce the city’s unfunded liabilities, and
4. Enhance economic growth through public and private collaboration.
After conducting a series of interview with various candidates on Friday, the council found the qualifications in a familiar face. They decided on REU Director and Assistant City Manager Barry Tippin. He’ll be affirmed at a meeting June 6th to begin the $210,000 a year job.
