A suspected carjacker who Anderson Police say eluded them Monday night is now in custody. At around 2 O’clock Monday morning officers were called to Silver and Mill Streets by a 26-year-old Redding man. He told them he had been parked on School Street when he was approached by a man who pointed a gun at him and stole his 2002 Honda Civic. At 10:30PM Monday night an officer spotted the car on Olinda Road near West Anderson Drive and tried to pull it over. The driver took off westbound on Olinda Road and led the officer on a chase at 90 miles an hour until the Honda left the road near Lou Ann Lane and ran into a tree. The driver ran away but items were found in the car that apparently identified him as 37-year-old Justin Lamar Raby. At ten to Six Tuesday morning Anderson Police and Shasta County Deputies responded to a report of a prowler in that same area. Raby was found hiding in somebody’s trailer and he surrendered.
