Three water system workers in three different Siskiyou County towns are accused of failing to report tainted water samples. An investigation by the State Water Resources Control Board led to the filing of charges against the men by the Siskiyou County District Attorney’s Office. The men criminally charged are Ronald LaRue of Dunsmuir, Wayne Grigsby of McCloud and David Toms of Weed. It’s alleged that on multiple occasions between March of 2012 and September of last year, municipal water personnel failed to report monthly bacterial water samples with positive findings. They’re also accused of failing to take the repeat samples that are required when a positive bacteria sample is found. There are 3 complaints each against McCloud and Weed and 18 against Dunsmuir. Mount Shasta City had an incident as well but no charges have been filed in that case. The violations are all misdemeanors.
