A fire in Modoc County is slowing down. The Soup Fire is 2500 acres and 50% contained. It’s actually five separate fires that started around Midnight on Monday in the South Warner Mountains in the Modoc National Forest northeast of the Town of Likely. Crews are trying to use minimal impact suppression tactics as the burn moves further into the wilderness. Reduced temperatures have allowed for more containment.
